PERMITS, INSURANCE & INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT

There are no Impact Fees in Columbia County. The County provides one-stop permitting through the office of Building Inspections and Permitting. The turnaround time for permitting typically involves a two-week period: however this depends on the size and nature of the project. Prior to building plan review, the following documents must be submitted:

  • Two sets of plans (one set to be kept on the job)
  • Water/Sewer tap fees paid
  • Approved site plan by Planning and Zoning
  • Permit Application

Building Permit Fees May Vary Depending Upon The Project
$300 and less No fee, unless inspection required, in which case a $15 fee for each inspection shall be charged
$301 to $2,000 $5 per thousand or fraction thereof. ($15 is inspection required)
$2,001 to $15,000 $10 for the first $2,000 plus $3 for each additional thousand or fraction thereof, to and including $15,000
$15,001 to $50,000 $49 for the first $15,000 plus $2.50 for each additional thousand or fraction thereof, to and including $50,000
$50,001 to $100,000 $136.50 for the first $50,000 plus $2 for each additional thousand or fraction thereof, to and including $100,000
$100,001 to $500,000 $236.50 for the first $100,000 plus $1.25 for each additional thousand or fraction thereof, to and including $500,000
$500,000 and up $736.50 for the first $500,000 plus $.75 for each additional thousand or fraction thereof.
