PERMITS, INSURANCE & INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT

Commercial, Industrial, Multifamily & Public Buildings, Having total Valuation:

$100 and less No fees unless inspection required, if required a fee of $15 for each inspection shall be charged.
$101 to $2,000 $6.00 per thousand or fraction thereof.
$2,001 to $15,000 $12 for the first $2,000 plus $3 for each additional thousand or fraction thereof to include $100,000
$15,001 to $50,000 $58.80 for the first $15,000 plus $2.40 for each additional thousand or fraction thereof to and including $50,000.
$50,001 to $100,000 $163.80 for the first $50,000 plus $2.40 for each additional thousand or fraction thereof to and including $100,000.
$100,001 to $500,000 $283.80 for the first $100,000 plus $1.50 for each additional thousand or fraction thereof to and including $500,000
$500,001 and up $883.80 for the first $500,000 plus $.90 for each additional thousand or fraction thereof.

The fire insurance rating is based upon the physical address of the building. The fire insurance ratings for Richmond County are 2, 5, 7 and 9. The urban district is rated 2 and the other districts are rated according to their physical address. The insurance companies determine insurance premiums based on the location's rating.

INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT

There are more than 4,000 acres of industrial land available in Richmond County at competitive rates. As local businesses continue to expand and move within the market, facilities also become available for new companies with immediate facility requirements. The majority of Richmond County industrial space can be found in two Industrial parks. These parks vary in size from just a few acres up to 1,500 acres. The Augusta Corporate Park is owned by the Development Authority of Richmond County.

Most of the Industrial parks offer utilities in place and some have rail service.
