Augusta-Aiken Income Measures

The per capita income will increase by 21.7% by the year 2005 and will continue to increase, while the mean household income is in an upward increase to 23.6% for the year 2005. The total earnings for the MSA will also increase by 10.5% by the year 2005.

For the purposes of this study, employees’ earnings are defined as the sum of wages and salaries, other labor income and proprietors’ income. Mean household income is defined as total personal income less estimated income of group quarters population divided by the number of households. Per Capita income is computed by dividing the personal income of an area by its population. Personal income is the sum of a resident’s net earnings, transfer payments, dividends, interest and rent in thousands of current dollars.
