As you probably know by now, on Tuesday, July 8, the Board of Directors named Ed Presnell as our Interim President. We could not be more pleased that Mr. Presnell has agreed to serve as the Interim President while we look for a President and CEO for the Chamber, and we are very happy to report that this is a position for which he is also a candidate. Mr. Presnell has the experience, energy and enthusiasm needed right now to help the Chamber reach its full potential. He is well known in the community and is actively involved in all of the Chamber's Functions.

Prior to assuming this position, Mr. Presnell served as Regional Vice President for KMC Telecom. In addition to his business experience, he is active in the community as well. He previously served as President of the Greater Augusta Sports Council for six years, as well as in other leadership positions in the community. Mr. Presnell is excited about this opportunity to serve as president of the Chamber and truly believes that our future is one of nearly unlimited possibilities. He cares about this community and has the business savvy needed to lead the Chamber in its economic development efforts. I hope you will join the Chamber and myself in welcoming Mr. Presnell and supporting his efforts as he works to improve the economic future of our area.

Finally, I would be remiss if I did not take this opportunity to thank Jim West for his many efforts on behalf of the Chamber. On behalf of the entire board and the membership, I want to wish him well in his future endeavors.
