We
were pleased that so many people took time out
of their busy schedules to allow us to honor

Economic
Development Roundup - Through June 2001
According
to the Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerces
Economic Development Department, in the first
half of 2001, there have been nine visits
from prospective investors and 19 qualified
leads. These figures are down from 18 visits
and 34 leads in the first half of 2000, primarily
due to the soft economy.
The
2001 prospects break down as three distribution
firms, two communications companies, two chemical
manufacturers (one a start-up) and two call
centers. Only about two of these are still fairly
active projects, two are somewhat active, and
the remainder has been deactivated. |
