GOLF & RECREATION
Augusta is also proud host each spring to the Masters golf tournament, the sport's most prestigious event. Since 1934, the golf course designed by Bobby Jones and Clifford Roberts has awed spectators for one week each April with its lush lawns and brilliant foliage.

This event also brings a tremendous economic boost to the MSA. It is estimated that over 130,000 tickets are sold, creating an economic impact of approximately $36 million. In addition, the thousands of spectators patronize Augusta area hotels and rent private housing. They shop in Augusta area stores and dine in area restaurants, all generating income for the Augusta community. For more information on accommodations for this event, contact Masters¨ Housing at: www.mastershousing.com.
